As we work towards changing the maritime search and rescue (SAR) framework to protect the life-saving work of SAR NGOs in the Central Mediterranean, we will post our updates here.

Ethics approval

The Liverpool John Moores University Research Ethics Committee approved our research project on 19 July 2021. We can commence inviting people from search and rescue NGOs to participate in our project.

Information session for NGOs to introduce the project

We will be hosting an information session (online) about our project on Friday, 29 October, 2021, 11:00-12:00 CEST. If you are from a SAR NGO and have had your vessel detained before, please join us. Read more here.
